I find this upgraded model not as functional as the older version. Although the map upgrades are fine the layout leaves much to be desired. First, the print is too small in the address book. The older version was larger and easier to read while driving. The same is true for the "next turn" directions which doesn't seem to have the same layout or quality of details. It has features that my Garmin 1490-LMT doesn't have. For example, the power plug is integrated into the cradle. Thus, when you remove the GPS for security purposes the cord stays with the cradle. With the Garmin you have to remove the GPS and then pull the plug from the back every time. Sounds trivial but after a few times of doing that you'll wish Garmin had put more thought into its cradle. That being said, it does lack some of the features that Garmin does have. Bottom line, this unit cost half of what the Garmin 1490 LMT cost and does pretty well. Consider it a good option at the price point. Expect to pay more as features increase, but remember majority of them are just gimmicks, are you really going to use you GPS as a picture viewer while you driving down the road?
